Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC), the largest Rotaract Conference in Asia Pacific, was first organized in 2005 in Rotary International District 3450 (Hong Kong, Macau & Mongolia). The conference aims to provide a platform for Rotaractors from different parts of the world to share ideas and experience about Rotaract, to make friends with each other and to understand different cultures.

APRRC 2005, hosted by six Districts in Tai Wan, was successfully held from 26th August to 29th August. Over 500 Rotaractors from different countries attended the conference to make APRRC like a big family gathering of Rotaractors!

Our District, as the organizing committee of the first APRRC, supported very much this meaningful event. A delegation of over 50 Rotaractors from our district joined the conference. Our support was shown not only in term of the number of participants but also in term of the level of involvement. District Rotaract Chairman, Parry Poon was invited to be the keynote speaker of the conference. District Rotaract Representative, Vincent Lui was invited to be the moderator of a plenary session and the speaker of a workshop sharing "How to organize a successful project". 

A platform to explore...

Those plenary sessions and workshops, related to leadership, service projects, club development, to name a few, provided an excellent opportunity for the Rotaractors to explore more about Rotaract.

Also, Rotaractors were provided many opportunities to experience different cultures. In culture night, Rotaractors from different countries were asked to have performance showing their cultures. Singing, dancing, drama, ... and lots of fun!

Our District played a drama called "Beauty and the Bruce". The story happened in a traditional Chinese restaurant. A beautiful "waitress" (played by Fifteen Chung, RAC New Asia College, CUHK) was bullied by some hooligans when serving their table.
The "waitress" was luckily saved by the Bruce (played by Frankie Tse, RAC Kowloon East). The beauty of the "waitress" and Bruce-Lee-style fighting gained so much applause from the audience.

APRRC 2005 was held successfully. We, the Rotaractors, definitely gained a deeper understanding about Rotaract and different cultures, and more importantly friendship through this remarkable event.
