What is Rotaract club?

A Rotaract Club is a Rotary Club-sponsored organization of young men and women between the age of 18 and 30 whose purpose is to provide an opportunity to address the physical and social needs of their communities, to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to gain unique international experiences through participation in international conferences, volunteer work in other countries and visits from Rotaractors from other lands.

A Rotaract club organizes different projects and activities, brings different members together with young men and women of smiliar backgrounds and interests to enjoy the fruits of effective teamwork, the success of worthwhile projects, and the bonds of lasting friendship. These projects and activities include 4 areas :-

Community Service

Organize and carry out community service projects to meet needs of others within the community, create avenues for collaboration with other community support organizations. Areas may includes concern of the aging and the disabled, functional literacy promotion, drug abuse prevention, environmental protection.

Professional Development

Expand the members' understanding of the work environment and business opportunities within their community. Develop skills through special professional and vocational forums; business technology updates; management and marketing seminars; conferences.

International Service

Develop collaborative efforts between Rotary and Rotaract clubs to improve living conditions in another part of the world and to increase world understanding within Rotaract club and its community.

Club Service

Promote membership and training development, schedule social activities and invite guests to participate in the business and social aspects of Rotaractors.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT ROTARACT CLUB OF CHANNEL ISLANDS

The Rotaract Club of Channel Islands was chartered on 7th January 1995 and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Channel Islands. We now have around 25 members and our General Meeting will be held on the one weekdays night at the second week of every month from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
