“Rotaract” has been empowered in the district since these few years. Apart from the excellent performance exerted by several PDRR, most of the efforts has been significantly contributed by our Rotaractors in District 3450. Since the year when the fundraising project for Regeneration Society was recognized by Rotary International as the 98-99 Rotary International Oustanding Project, we have been successfully recognized again by the same award for the project of “We care, we smile” in 2004-05. Recently, we can be also able to get the RI outstanding Project Regional Winner in Asia Pacific Region for the Project of “Its Family, Its Harmony”. Not to say for the awards, our reputation for hosting Japanese and other Asian countries’ Rotaract clubs has long been established. Moreover, a strong universities based clubs’ network and the success of holding the first Asia Pacific Rotaract Regional Conference are our assets without questions.

The four avenues including club service, community service, international service and professional development have been stated frequently in every district event. However, only few Rotaractors recognize the implication behind. In my point of view, Its much more important to understand the motto of Rotaract, “ To serve, to learn, to lead”, that is fellowship through servicing, learning and leading continuously over our Rotaract life. We have seen so many stories that Rotaractors started their engines in the late years. We have seen some of the inspirational stories that Rotaractors were occupied during the middle of their Rotaract life and finally came back for reenergizing and delegated to Rotaract before 30. Its not the number of years that a Rotaractor served is important, it’s the value they discover eventually in any time period over their Rotaract life does.

Perhaps different Rotaractors have their own preferences in any of the above four avenues, the same result is gonna be the fact that they could gain various experience through servicing, learning and leading in various time period.

So next time when you feel tired about Rotaract, please just spend a few minutes to think about what was the element which drove you to Rotaract in the first place and I can assure you that you will gonna be amused for what you discovered! On the other hand, if you already find the value for staying at Rotaract, Congratulations! You are already helping to lead the “Rotaract” way! Lets enjoy the coming Rotaract year, cheers!
