When every member is busy with their projects, examinations and work, it is time to relax by meeting the friends in Kwai Chung.

In this GM, we first have the cultural month of Indian. (in consistence with the CSAA 2005 this year- ethnic minorities) Carr Ngai came to share his internship experience with us in Indian and gave Vivian a gift from Indian who won the game finally.

Then Eric, Silvia, Billie, Man Luen and Ava shared their joy and excitement with us in their trip to Qing Yuan, Guangdong in the easter holiday just passed. They had a lot of fun there!!! =D

Finally It came to the most exciting part of the GM-speaker time. We had Rotarian PP Lawrence Leung shared with us the historical development of HK from the economic viewpoint. He also encouraged us to widen our horizon more by visiting other countries and to have more discussion among ourselves about politics, economics and history, etc.

Dinner time came and we had a wonderful and big dinner and thanks our advisor George for treating us!!You are so generous and supportive.

See you again in the coming GM!!!

General Meeting (January 2005)
Date:29 January 2005
Activity: Badminton

Kwai Chung Cup-Badminton

You would be surprised to see how good mother club Rotarians were in playing badminton. All were experts in giving you biggest hits ever, with only a second for you to strategize before striking back. It was a nice play, a friendly match. We wish to have more ball games with mother club in the future, experiencing our Rotarians' energy and strengths.

GM + Dinner

Cadmus' Korean cultural month presentation was comprehensive and informative. He tried to give you a brief introduction of Korean culture with his 4 months of exchange life at Yonsei University , in Seoul . Starting with telling you facts about the similarities between Korean, Chinese and Japanese, he then explored more on the strength of Koreans in terms of national bonding and human relationships. With his unique experience in making friends of different ethnic origins, he could tell us more, for sure, about the best and worst part of Korean girls (most have done plastic surgery!), Japanese girls, basically girls from anywhere! (Just kidding!) If you missed it, you may have to ask him in person, he's expert! He then played a Korean word game with us. Tell you what, Korean words are all the same, you can hardly tell the difference between them!!!!

General Meeting (December 2004)
Date: 25th December 2004
Activity: Christmas Party

Our Christmas service started early in the afternoon, in a special care center for the disabled on Tsing Yi. We had over 30 members and friends joining the Christmas party for the disabled. We played games, shared a big turkey and snacks. It was a merry Christmas.

After the service, we moved to a restaurant in Kwai Fong for our Rotaract Christmas party. We started off with a funny game: two people in one team, each eating a big biscuit stick on one end, the one who got the candy hung over the middle of the stick first won. Huh~~~everyone in the restaurant was looking and laughing at us! They would love to join the game! (because you may risk kissing your teammate if you two got the candy at the same time, which was the most exciting part of the game!) Ryan Cho, our charter member and Sergeant-at-Arms 2002/2003, won the game!!!!!!!! (huh~~~his girlfriend, Chario, must be furious.) He was awarded with a nice scarf. (chosen by Diane and Ava!)

Then we played the “Big TV” game together. It was so much fun. Many were great actors, including our potential member, Carr Ngai, and Membership Development Director, Liam Li. Funny enough, they were making exaggerated facial and body expressions to give their teammates hints. Haha~

It then came to the most exciting part of the party-Lucky Draw. Yes, we had an MP3 and a Casio watch. The lucky guys were……Liam Li and Billie Ho! Congratulations~~~

Wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy new year!!!

General Meeting (November 2004)

Date: November 2004
Activity: Speaker and BBQ

The weather is fine and we go to BBQ together at the Shing Mun Reservoir tonight. We ate a lot, played a lot and laughed a lot. We also have Maggie as our speaker to share with us about her career as well as her experince of living in different countries.

The cultural month this GM is the German month by our President Ava. She gave a brief introduction of Germany. Like as before, we played the quiz. IPP Kenix won and was awarded a box of German choco--Kinder Eggs. We also tried out some german wine together!

It;s a nice GM!!

General Meeting (October 2004)
Date: October 2004
Activity: Speaker

Mr. Lawrence Li, Director of Corporate Finance, Securities and Futures Commission, was invited to speak in our GM. He basically talked about the art of making choice, how we “choose” in our life. He inspired us by telling us the key component of making choice: do some research before you choose, because you should have a better understanding of what you are choosing and how you will be benefited from making that choice.

Silvia was the star of the month and she shared with us about her internship in Disney US and some of the cultural differences she noticed.

With the success of the membership development Camp held in Sept. We officially admitted 6 new members in this GM. They were pinned by our Rotarians Uncle George and Alexis. Welcome to Kwai Chung.

Our Membership Development Director, Liam Li, gave us a talk on Italian culture based on his travel to Italy in summer 2004. He introduced us the cappuccino drinking habit of Italians, which is one shot at a time in the morning; unlike the slow pace style of an enjoyable afternoon tea with cappuccino and brownie in a nice coffee shop in Hong Kong . Liam said Italian guys are generally good-looking, echoed by Ava and Erica, who have also been to Italy before. But unluckily, he didn't bring any pictures to demonstrate us. Anyways, he also made some Italians snacks for us. It was a kind of preserved meat eaten with sweet melon (very good strong but good taste) and a nice alcoholic drink mixed with fizzy water and lemon wine. (the name? forgot already!)

General Meeting (September 2004)
Date: October 2004
Activity: Boat Trip

Second Anniversary Boat Trip

Boat trip again! Our first anniversary celebration was also a boat trip. We had a very happy and relaxing afternoon, starting with chopping roast pig (a Chinese tradition of celebrating), singing the Rotaract song and reporting events held in previous year. Then some went fishing, some water skiing, some chatting and some swimming.

When we returned to Tsim Sha Tsui at night, we watched firework together. It was so beautiful!~~~

Happy birthday again to the Rotaract Club of Kwai Chung!

General Meeting (August 2004)
Date: August 2004
Venue: Tsing Yi

Soccer! Heavy rain! Our fellow Rotaractors and Rotarians played hard in the heavy rain!! It was an exciting match!! Although held under bad weather, our members' determination and spirit were never diminished! (hurray~~~) It made us, the cheering team, shout even louder and yell for every goal by either side. It came out to be 9 to 9. Huh~thank god!

Alright, before the soccer match, we actually had a formal GM with DG Alexander Mak as speaker. He shared with us his experience in striving through his auditing profession and told us some tips on building up relationships. He was very nice and responsive to our members' questions.

Then we had our Greek cultural month presentation by Diane. She gave us some backgrounds on Olympics and historical impact by Greek people. She then gave us a quiz on Greek culture. The winner was Simon!!!! He got a very nice travel handbook to Greece . (Simon, when are you visiting Greece though?) Diane also made us some Greek salad! Yummy yummy~ it was made of black olive, cucumber, tomato, onion and feta cheese, dressed with olive oil and vinegar. Thanks Diane! (while we had our GM, Rotarians were waiting excitedly and stretching already for the soccer match!)
